Without going into too much detail I will say that I needed to read this and I am glad I ran past it.
Ephesians 1:18-23
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Sometimes its good to remember the point and the goal. The reason for all of this work and all of this constant heartbreak. Though it is of the kind healing it is still painful. That reminds me of one of my favorite Robert Louis Stevenson poems: The Celestial Surgeon http://www.poetry-archive.com/s/the_celestial_surgeon.html
Also, I ran into this link to the Journey church online... http://www.journeyfranklin.com/I kind of love it and I want to visit. The approach they take is so honest and so true to what I think church is meant to be for individuals as well as the community. It is truly beautiful.
Right now I'm listening to the podcast on Marriage is a Set-up/Displaying Life Through Death :http://journeyfranklin.com/podcast/message022810.mp3 . I find this to be so true, honest, and most of all... real and I think we need more of this in church and community. The pastor mentioned in this podcast that"Theology is played out in the brokenness of our lives", which was also something I needed to remember. You can't run away, you have to stay to experience all parts of life. The death, and the new life. The repetition of the process of transformation.
Do listen if you get a chance I think it really emphasizes that point even though it is in the context of marriage there is still a greater point within the context of the sermon! :) I think you will find it to be enlightening both in content and approach.
Here's for looking up and going forward friends!
Love always, always love <3
